WHAT WE DO
2021 Letting Space & Urban Dream Brokerage Public Art Commission --
Open Wednesday 18th - Sunday 29th May, 2022
INHABIT is a site of community care and connection that sits at the intersection of birth and reproductive justice, public art and social practice.
Operating as a pop-up postpartum support centre to examine our community, cultural and whānau approaches to postpartum care, we provide free services open to the public on a walk-in basis. As well as opportunities to sign up for more intimate and focused workshops.
The programming and workshops are be facilitated by experienced perinatal professionals, including birth and postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, pelvic floor specialists and therapists, as well as artists and makers.
Our workshops, classes and community offerings are rooted in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed practices. We are inclusive of all sexual orientations, gender identities and body sizes. INHABIT is warm and nurturing, a safe, inclusive space that is accessible and welcoming to all communities – there is one thing that we have in common, we have all been born.
Come and join us for a cup of tea or a bowl of soup and a chat and be held, seen and supported as we unpack the intricate web of feelings that bind us together after we give birth and truly INHABIT Postpartum.
I look forward to spending time in community with you.
